Master KG became a more reputable musician following the release of song Jerusalema, which penetrated several charts and won him awards as well. Thus, he became a toast of the industry to the extent that even the so-called big names in the industry desired to work with him including Nigeria’s Burna Boy.
During an interview with Nigeria’s Punch Newspaper, Master KG claimed Burna Boy jumped on the remake of his Jerusalema for free.
The original song featured Nomcebo Zikode but Burna Boy joined the fray to spice up the music with some Yoruba Language lyric. And surprisingly, the remix gained wider acceptance to even beyond the frontiers of Africa.
“I did not pay Burna Boy to feature on the remix of the song, Jerusalema. There was no paid fee for this feature to happen. The amazing thing about the song is that it was already popular.
“According to what I heard, the song was one of his favourite songs as well. It was so easy to make it work and make the collaboration a success. So, there was no payment for the feature,” Master KG remarked.
Master KG further alluded to the fact that Burna Boy jumped on the song because he loved the hit that the original song is.
“It was not something he did for money, instead he did it because it comes from his heart.”
