The maiden edition of South African Amapiano Music (SAMA) Awards was held at Sandton Convention Centre as Reece Madlisa, Zuma, Mpura and Mr JazziQ were some of the biggest winners.
‘Umsebenzi Wethu’ has been voted Amapiano Song of the Year and the artists scooped a whooping sum of R50,000 while all the other category winners took home R10,000 each.
Mpura and Killer Kau who passed away unexpectedly in a horrific car accident while going to a gig were also honoured with a posthumous award following their outstanding contribution to the genre.
