Blaq Diamond which comprises of Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa have officially revealed that they are no longer under Ambitiouz Entertainment’s management moving forward.
The musical duo made this statement with the release of their song Ilanga which came alongside a dope video as well.
“It was between sticking with the label or choosing growth. We wanted growth more than anything because we wanted to tap into the African market. There was a clear disconnect between our vision and theirs. It is no longer aligned. It was nice working with them. We just want to go shoot to the other side,” Sphelele said.
Only few artists have been able to leave Ambitiouz without much fuss, as the likes of A-Reece, and Emtee are still disgruntled over royalties and music rights, however, according to Blaq Diamond they have no scores to settle with the management.
“We always made sure we had lawyers around. Even with us leaving Ambitiouz, we had to get lawyers to clear everything up,” they said.
Blaq Diamond also revealed they left Ambitiouz in December 2021. This explains why they failed to release any music in the first half of 2022, having dropped the song, Italy in October 2021.
